What is NetDMC?
NetDMC is a growing network of disciple-makers, mentors and coaches relating to, referencing and resourcing one another for the purpose of teaming together to shape lives and leaders within the Dozen Domains in ways of God. What are the overarching aims of NetDMC?
What do you mean by the Dozen Domains? God has created each of us unique. According to the Scriptures, He has deposited special abilities, skills and gifts within each of us, and a distinct calling to fulfill for His purposes. Combine that with our heritages, personalities, experiences and spheres of influence and it makes for sharp arrows in God’s hands! As we examine individuals and the culture that emerges within groupings of people, we find that there are various outlets to express the gifts and callings of those living within it. When considered, there seems to be a ‘dozen domains’ which embody the various expressions that serve a society today – each can be influenced and shaped by God’s ways through godly leaders. Like the twelve gates that needed repairing and restoring in the book of Nehemiah, these twelve domains represent areas of a country’s culture that need to be freshly aligned with the ways of God through godly leaders so God is glorified and people are honored and served. These Dozen Domains each have their own distinct ‘strands of DNA’ which uniquely reveal the character of God (see examples in the box below) and represent: 1) Specialized abilities and gifts to serve others; 2) Products and/or services by which to bless others; 3) Unique platforms to shape and influence others; 4) Relationships to enjoy and team with others; 5) A specific mission to be accomplished for others. Some people aren’t as focused on serving via the Dozen Domains but rather on a particular ‘people grouping’ (Rev. 7:9) and are represented here by ‘Tribes, Tongues, Peoples, Nations’ – creating a ‘baker’s dozen’ (13). What is NetDMC’s History? NetDMC began as a seed of vision in the heart of Dave Buehring, Lionshare’s Founder and Team Leader, in April of 2006. After seeking the Lord in prayer, Dave invited Henry Blackaby and Winkie Pratney – long time disciple-makers and mentors – to join him at an initial gathering of some of his disciple-making/mentoring/coaching friends in Nashville in the Summer of 2009. That time was focused on building relationships and listening together to the Lord and one another. With the encouragement of many of those original participants, a second Summit was planned for the Spring of 2010 in Dallas/Fort Worth. While there, times of learning were experienced, prayer and discussions were had within ‘Domain Huddles’ and a concentration together on the discipling of the young black man in America was explored. That gathering continued to expand the growing national network and launch NetDMC more fully in to its primary aims. What is NetDMC’s ‘2020 Vision’? NetDMC participants are in the process of prayerfully developing a decade-long game plan regarding their domain that can be implemented in layers between now and the end of the year 2020. ‘Domain Working Teams’, made up of people who have disciple-making/mentoring/coaching hearts and have been appointed by God to serve within a specific domain, are currently linking hearts and prayerfully considering ways to reference each other and partner together. The aim is to reestablish disciple-making/mentoring/coaching as a ‘norm’ within the Dozen Domains over the next decade, raising up leaders who live and lead out of the ways of God while at the same time creating a healthy generational multiplication inertia. When is the next strategic gathering of NetDMC participants? July 11-13, 2011 at the American Airlines Conference Center in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.
